Management

RMP's management team has a solid track record of success. Together, over 20 years, the team has grown and sold three petroleum companies: Rider Resources Ltd., Meota Resources Corp. and Poco Petroleums Ltd. Each member of the management team is personally invested in RMP, and their combined experience and reputation ensure a promising future for RMP Energy.

Craig W. Stewart
Executive Chairman and Director

Mr. Stewart is the Executive Chairman of RMP Energy Inc. Prior to the 2011 restructuring, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of RMP Energy Ltd. He was President and CEO of Rider Resources Ltd. from 2003 to 2008, Meota Resources Corp. from 2000 to 2002 and Poco Petroleums Ltd. from 1992 to 1999. Mr. Stewart has served as a board member of several oil and gas industry organizations and public energy companies. Currently, his only directorship is for RMP.

Mr. Stewart earned a Bachelor degree in economics and business from the University of Calgary.


John W. Ferguson
President and Chief Executive Officer and Director

Mr. Ferguson is the President and Chief Executive Officer of RMP Energy Inc. Prior to the 2011 restructuring, he was Vice President of Finance, Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary of RMP Energy Ltd. He held the position of Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer with Rider Resources Ltd. from 2003 to 2008, Meota Resources Corp. from 2000 to 2002 and Poco Petroleums Ltd. from 1992 to 1999. In that role he oversaw accounting, finance, investor relations, human resources, information technology and strategic planning. Mr. Ferguson has been a director of a number of public companies and not-for-profit organizations. Currently his only directorship is with RMP.

Mr. Ferguson earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Calgary and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta.


Dean J.W. Bernhard
Vice President, Finance & Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Bernhard is the Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Finance of RMP Energy Inc. Prior to joining RMP, he was Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Orleans Energy Ltd. Mr. Bernhard began his career with Amoco Canada Limited and held progressively more senior positions with Crestar Energy Inc., Tarragon Oil and Gas Limited, Marathon Oil Canada Limited, Compton Petroleum Corporation and E3 Energy Inc.

Mr. Bernhard earned a Bachelor of Commerce, Finance degree (with Distinction) from the University of Saskatchewan. He also possesses his Certified Management Accountant designation.


Brent W. DesBrisay
Vice President, Geosciences

Mr. DesBrisay is the Vice President of Geosciences of RMP Energy Inc. Prior to the 2011 restructuring, he held the position of Vice President of Exploration with RMP Energy Ltd. He was Vice President of Exploration for Rider Resources Ltd. from 2003 to 2008, and for Meota Resources Corp. from 2000 to 2002. Mr. DesBrisay worked for Poco Petroleums Ltd. from 1991 to 2000 where he held the position of Senior Geologist with earlier positions including Area Geologist, Team Leader and Business Development Geologist.

Mr. DesBrisay earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from the University of Alberta.


Jonathan L. Grimwood
Vice President, Exploration

Mr. Grimwood is the Vice President of Exploration at RMP Energy Inc. Prior to the 2011 restructuring, he was the Manager of Exploration of RMP Energy Ltd. He started his career at Poco Petroleums Ltd. in 1997 and held positions of increasing responsibility at Burlington Resources Canada Ltd., Rider Resources Ltd., and Galleon Energy Inc.

Mr. Grimwood earned a Bachelor of Science from Brandon University, a Masters Degree in Earth Sciences from the University of Waterloo and is currently a registered member of APEGA.


Greg T. Kubat,
Vice President, Engineering

Mr. Kubat is the Vice President of Engineering for RMP Energy Inc. Prior to commencing with RMP in April 2014, he was Vice President of Engineering with Nordegg Resources Inc. from 2009 to April 2014. He was Senior Engineer for Rider Resources Ltd. from 2003 to 2008 and Meota Resources Corp. from 2000 to 2002.

Mr. Kubat earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Alberta and is a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA). He is also a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.

R. Bruce McFarlane
Vice President, Business Development

Mr. McFarlane is the Vice President of Business Development at RMP Energy Inc. Prior to the 2011 restructuring, he was Vice President of Business Development for RMP Energy Ltd. He was Vice President of Business Development for Rider Resources Ltd. from 2003 to 2008 and Meota Resources Corp. from 2000 to 2002. Prior to that, he held positions of increasing responsibility at Poco Petroleums Ltd., including landman, until his eventual appointment as Vice President of Business Development in 1997. He started his career as a landman at Dome Petroleum Limited before moving to Poco Petroleums Ltd.

Mr. McFarlane earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Math and a Bachelor of Physical and Health Education degree, both from Queen's University. He has been a member of the Canadian Association of Professional Landmen for 30 years. Mr. McFarlane is a founding Director of the Foundation for Energy, Education and Research, sits on the Queen's Campaign Cabinet and is co-chair of the Insurance and Finance Division for the 2011 Calgary United Way Campaign.

 

Derek N. Riddell
Vice President, Operations

Mr. Riddell is the Vice President of Operations at RMP Energy Inc. Prior to the 2011 restructuring, he was the Manager of Operations of RMP Energy Ltd.  He started his career at Rising Resources Ltd. in 1992 and held positions of increasing responsibility in various roles at Gardiner Oil and Gas Ltd., Poco Petroleums Ltd., Burlington Resources Canada Ltd. and Rider Resources Ltd.

Mr. Riddell earned a Bachelor of Applied Petroleum Engineering degree and a diploma in Petroleum Engineering Technology from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology.  He is a registered member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) and the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE).
